2021 Chardonnay (Micro Cuvée)
Meyer Family Vineyards
Okanagan Falls, BC
$60.97
This is a wine made from select barrels and is always a small-lot wine. Lemon yellow with medium-minus intensity. The nose is a cacophony of toast, butter, honey, vanilla, lemon, apple, melon, spice, fig, caramel, lanolin, and pencil shavings. Well balanced with a full, creamy texture. The palate is oak-forward but delicious with toast, honey and lemon flavours dominating. A medium-long finish. This is an impressive wine.

2022 Roussanne Marsanne
Moon Curser
Osoyoos, BC
$26.99
Golden straw with medium-minus intensity. The nose shows aromas of Meyer lemon, brioche, almonds, apricot peel, and honey, with floral undertones. Good balance and texture. Lemon, delicate tree fruit, butter, mandarin, and grapefruit on the palate followed by a medium-plus finish. An excellent alternative to chardonnay.

2020 Riesling
Liber Farm and Winery
Osoyoos, BC
$22.99
These grapes came from a mountainside vineyard overlooking the Similkameen River. Lemon yellow with medium intensity. A classic Riesling nose displaying steely aromas of petrol, minerality, lemon, jasmine, and tropical fruit. Very good balance. The flavours mirror the nose followed by a medium-long finish. Impressive.

2022 Rosé (Nouveau)
Poplar Grove
Penticton, BC
$25.99
A propriety blend, but I suspect Merlot and Pinot Noir are a part of the blend. Queen Anne cherry red and orange hues with medium intensity. Cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, melon, honeysuckle, and cranberry on the nose. Good balance with medium body and a medium finish. At only 8% ABV, this is a lovely patio sipper/luncheon wine.

2019 Mediterranean Blend
Castillo de Madax
Jumilla, Spain
$9.99
While there are many good bargain wines from Spain, you also get what you pay for. This Spanish red is a blend of Mourvedre, Mataro, and Monastrell. Garnet red with medium-dep intensity. A pretty simple nose with aromas of cherry, plum, and spice. The balance is acceptable with soft tannins. Some pleasing fruity flavours on the palate followed by a medium-minus finish. This wine is drinkable and some may enjoy it as a weekday wine, but I usually leave the ‘cheap and cheerful’ wines for others to recommend.
