at The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry

Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country’s wine and food festival
returns May 3-5, 2024

Spring is on the horizon and it’s a great time to plan a fun, food-themed weekend to Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. Pig Out Festival, taking place May 3-5, 2024, is one of the Okanagan Valley’s most anticipated wine and food festivals, with a whole-hog weekend full of delicious food and local wine.

Kick-start the weekend with the decadent Pig Out Wine Dinner, in partnership with The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry at Spirit Ridge Resort on Friday May 3rd, 2024.

Enjoy modern vineyard cuisine with an innovative menu prepared by talented Chef Murray McDonald and his team. Each course will be paired with equally delicious wines from the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country region, presented to guests by the winemaker or winery owner – the perfect match to toast the start of a delectable culinary weekend. The evening will start with a sparkling reception and canapés including a Country-style Pork Terrine and Pork Siu Mai with soy ginger sauce. Once guests are seated, a Smoked Ham Hock and Yellow Pea Soup will be served, alongside a Pork Belly and Apple Green Salad. A range of main dishes and sides follow, served family-style including Whiskey Bacon Brussel Sprouts, Fire Kissed Pork Sausage, Whole Suckling Pig and Chicharron. To finish, Maple Bacon Cheesecake and Pecan Bacon Pie with caramel popcorn ice cream.

Wines will be poured on the night from representatives from five wineries from the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country region, including Gold Hill Winery, Nk’Mip Cellars, Nostalgia Wines, River Stone Estate Winery and Road 13 Vineyards. Tickets cost $109 + tax, inclusive of gratuity, and can be purchased at oliverosoyoos.com.

The following day (Saturday May 4th), the Pig Out Festival, will take place surrounded by the vines at Cellar Door & More, home to award-winning Jackson-Triggs and Inniskillin, just north of Oliver, B.C. Tickets are now over 50% sold out. Local and guest chefs will unite to showcase their culinary talents, under the theme “Fiesta”, a colourful celebration of the diverse food, wine and culture of the South Okanagan in an elegant and relaxed outdoor setting. To purchase Pig Out Festival tickets (currently $109+ tax), visit www.oliverosoyoos.com. Tickets include entry to the festival, and tokens to enjoy the food stations and wine samples throughout the afternoon, as well as a shuttle service from Oliver or Osoyoos to the festival location and a safe ride home. The event is only for guests aged 19+.
