THE BORDERS ARE OPEN FOR A WINTER TO REMEMBER IN ROSSLAND, B.C.

START THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT WITH UNFORGETTABLE WINTER MEMORIES MADE ONLY IN ROSSLAND

If a New Year’s resolution includes embracing winter, exploring the outdoors, being more adventurous and spending time in untouched and wide-open spaces then Rossland is the place to kick off 2023. With Canadian/US border restrictions eliminated and an early opening of legendary ski resort, RED Mountain Resort, Rossland is ready to welcome one and all.

Rossland has access to some of the most skiable terrain in North America at RED Resort and one of the worlds largest cat skiing operations with Big Red Cats. In addition, this West Kootenay paradise is minutes from nordic and outdoor adventures of all kinds and is home to the infamous Winter Carnival held each year in late January.

Running from January 26 to 29, Rossland welcomes visitors to one of Canada’s first winter carnivals, which includes a rail jam in the middle of town and live concerts nightly as Blizzard Music Fest makes its triumphant return. This live music event offers visitors a variety of beats like Stickybuds with DJ Dubconscious and the laid-back bluegrass sounds of Moontricks and more. Venues such as a downtown ice palace and stages in historic buildings are sure to make this years’ event truly unforgettable.

“After a couple years hiatus, Rossland’s legendary winter events are starting to make a comeback,” says Tourism Rossland’s Executive Director, András Lukács. “We are excited to have our Winter Carnival and Blizzard Music Festival return, along with unmatched community spirit that makes this an unforgettable time of year in Rossland.”

After you get down during Carnival, reconnect with nature: Rossland is the gateway to the great outdoors. Whether its snowshoeing to hidden cabins in the woods, skating on Nancy Greene Lake, exploring groomed nordic and fat biking trails, shredding the backcountry or RED Mountain Resort, 2023 adventures await in Rossland.
