H Tasting Lounge Presents ‘Taste of Asia’ Cocktail Menu

Savour new drink offerings at The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver’s seaside patio

In Spring 2019, H Tasting Lounge (HTL) – The Westin Bayshore Vancouver’s popular destination for premium libations and regionally inspired tasting plates – unveiled a seaside patio that instantly became a favourite perch for countless guests from near and far. Featuring both waterfront and fireside seating, the outdoor space is one of Vancouver’s top gems, offering unparalleled views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains, as well as direct access to the Vancouver seawall.

And now, for Summer 2022, HTL is thrilled to introduce a new roster of creative cocktails and dishes that perfectly complement the season’s al fresco afternoons and evenings.

The Taste of Asia cocktail menu showcases a range of beverages with exceptional attention to detail, and rich, complex flavours.

The centrepiece of HTL’s summer drinks menu, is Cycles, a flight of three cocktails, each made with different varieties of Japanese shochu artfully combined with fruit, spices, teas and other premium liquors. Journey through all three cycles of the cocktail experience or select one to relish. Morning – Asa showcases rice shochu and a housemade sake vermouth served martini-style. Afternoon – Hiro highlights sweet potato shochu, melon and 05 Chiran Sincha served like a Japanese highball. Lastly, the Evening – Ban is a take on a hot toddy with aged barley shochu, roasted barley tea, ginger honey and spice, served hot in a ceramic mug over a bed of rocks with dry ice and burning incense.

With no shortage of thoughtful presentation, each libation on the new menu has a place in your camera roll. For example, White Rabbit Hangover Cure is served in a delicate rabbit-shaped ceramic glass. And, Jungle Japes, which pays homage to the Jungle Bird cocktail and is served in a whimsical monkey cup and decorated with banana-shaped candy; this blend combines rum and Campari with the tropical sweetness of rambutan with roasted coconut. The burst of flavour matches the excitement of beating the first level of Donkey Kong, Jungle Japes!

HTL’s culinary offerings have been designed with both the season and the Pacific Northwest’s diverse flavours in mind. Savour new menu additions such as albacore tuna tataki with soba noodle salad and shoyu caviar; pan-roasted Pacific salmon in lemon vin blanc with fresh dill and cress; and traditional bao buns filled with intensely flavourful char siu. These join long-time HTL favourites such as fresh BC oysters, Burrata with local heirloom tomatoes, Pacific crab cakes and the legendary seafood tower.

Happy hour? Why, or course! From 3 to 5pm daily, enjoy a rotating card of cocktails, wines, beers and small plates priced from only $5 each.

Patio reservations are available weekdays only from noon to 2pm; seating is otherwise first come, first served.

HTL’s Weekend Afternoon Tea continues Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3pm, featuring premium loose-leaf teas and an indulgent variety of sweet and savoury delicacies.

HTL is open Sunday to Thursday from 11:30am to 11pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to midnight. Visit htastinglounge.comfor more information and to make reservations.
