Whistler’s Award Winning Vallea Lumina Announces a Winter Journey

Whistler’s Award Winning Vallea Lumina Announces a Winter Journey
The Adventure Group and Moment Factory bring new winter experience to Whistler in global Lumina night walk series

After enchanting visitors in Whistler with multimedia magic set amidst the forests of Cougar Mountain, Vallea Lumina is debuting its first-ever winter journey. Premiering November 28, the acclaimed experience, created by Moment Factory and powered by The Adventure Group, will greet the season with a winter wonderland filled with dazzling lights, emotive soundscapes and stunning scenography.

Located in a lush forest setting, Vallea Lumina takes place just 10 minutes from Whistler Village at Cougar Mountain. Guests reach the night walk via complimentary shuttle, and are immediately immersed into charming storytelling in a breathtaking environment. Throughout the approximately 60 minute adventure, visitors follow in the footsteps of two long-ago hikers, Leonard and Gloria, who are seeking a mystical hidden valley where stardust falls from the sky; as guests move through the experience, opportunities abound to touch, play and engage with the ever-changing environment. The new winter trail will offer smooth, easy to walk surfaces with minimal elevation gain or loss; and additional lighting effects will serve to heighten and enhance the excursion. As with Vallea Lumina’s summer experience, guests can enjoy cozy non-alcoholic refreshments and snacks at base camp prior to entering the show.

Vallea Lumina is created by Montreal-based Moment Factory, a multiple award-winning entertainment studio that specializes in the creation, design and production of multimedia environments. Renowned for staging night walk experiences around the world, Moment Factory partnered with The Adventure Group, Whistler’s premiere activity provider, connecting locals and visitors to the region’s diverse array of experiences, to produce the first Vallea Lumina in 2018. An ode to Whistler’s culture and natural beauty, the night walk has received an overwhelmingly positive response from guests and critics alike, leading to the decision to adapt the show for winter.

“We’ve been so thrilled with the response received from both locals and visitors from around the world that we knew we had to take Vallea Lumina to the next level with a winter experience.” said Joey Houssian, Founder and CEO of The Adventure Group. “We can’t wait for you to see what we have created in the snow; it’s magical and truly a winter wonderland.”

Admission to Vallea Lumina is $29.99 per adult, and $24.99 per youth; tickets include complimentary shuttle between Whistler Village and the Cougar Mountain.

Vallea Lumina’s summer season will run nightly until October 13. The new winter experience will launch November 28, and run nightly until April 2020. For more information about Vallea Lumina, or to book tickets, visit www.vallealumina.com, or call 1.833.800.8480.
