Chilled reds are IN:
Red wine is Canadians’ most loved wine and according to a survey conducted by Wine Rack, more than half (64 per cent) prefer them. It may be our love of pairing red wine with meals that make it so popular or how easily it elevates a simple dish. Whatever the reason, it seems to be a people-pleaser and we wanted to share some survey findings that offer interesting insights into how Canadians enjoy their ruby red beverage of choice.
- According to Canadians, 77 per cent of red wine volume is consumed with food.
- Men prefer red wine, with just over half (52 per cent) consuming red wines over whites, rosés or sparkling.
- Canadians claim the ideal red wine should be smooth, full-bodied, and easy to drink. The top 3 red wine varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.
Below is a list of top picks that will help you savour the exquisite taste of chilled red wines! Whether you’re celebrating the beginning of fall, your friends or even small moments, our selection offers a variety of red wines that will delight your palate and enhance your every celebration.
