Have you ever wondered why Ireland spells its beloved grain spirit “whiskey” and not “whisky”? Do you know that fine peated and unpeated single malt, plus blended whiskey, is not just made in Scotland, but also in Ireland? Are you curious why Irish distillers are renowned for their meticulous and unique triple-distillation method? Find out these and more fascinating facts at the Bushmills Irish Whiskey Distillers Dinner on March 21 at H2 Kitchen + Bar.
This spirited event takes place during “St. Patrick’s Week,” just a few days after the March 17 holiday made for imbibing, gathering and celebrating all things Irish. You’ll be greeted with a Bushmills 10 Year welcome cocktail, and then enjoy unique, innovative pairings from the experts behind Bushmills and The Sexton Irish Whiskies, perfectly complementing the signature cuisine of H2 Kitchen + Bar by Chef Homer Baisa.
The six-course pairing menu includes:
• A savoury Scotch Egg with a crispy leek finish to accent the smoothness of Bushmills Original Triple Distilled
• Braised Lamb Raviolo to bring out subtle and savoury nuances from Bushmills 10 Year
• Espresso Rubbed Duck Breast which ideally accompanies the velvety, smoky warmth of Bushmills Black Bush
• Beef Short Rib which captures the depth of flavour in Bushmills 16 Year
• Welsh Rarebit which matches the richness of Bushmills 12 Year
• And finally, a heavenly Eaton Mess with whiskey-infused salted caramel that brings out toffee notes in Sexton Irish Single Malt.
Tickets are $89 plus tax and gratuity, with limited seating available.
